How soap and water are “good for wellbeing and business”
Business gains as well as good health and wellbeing are the huge benefits that regular and effective hand washing can provide, according to a recent report on the European Cleaning Journal (ECJ) website.
The article quotes a report commissioned by Tork – part of Essity – which coincides with Global Handwashing Day which this year takes place on the 15th October.
Three thousand individuals across six countries were consulted in the course of putting together the survey, which brought out some interesting scenarios, including:-
- “40 per cent of full-time employees wanted hand hygiene to have a higher priority at work
- “Around 30 per cent claimed their job satisfaction would be greater if they knew that all their colleagues were washing their hands properly.’
Customer more likely to return to restaurants
Interesting, but not surprisingly, the restaurant sector was deemed to be a beneficiary where high profile hand hygiene protocols were in place, with the report concluding that 50% of those surveyed “would be more willing to return to a restaurant where the staff had clear hand washing routines in place.”
