A key supplier of hand wash units
The programme of life-saving coronavirus jabs has now begun, with deliveries from High Street pharmacies as the NHS accelerates the biggest vaccination programme in its history.
Teal, a regular NHS supplier, was involved in providing portable sink units for the Covid-19 isolation units and throughout this period as the demand grew for hygienic hand washing facilities in hospitals, including the Birmingham Nightingale Hospital operation. They are now a key supplier of hand wash units to support the pharmacy-based vaccination locations.
In the coming weeks over two hundred community pharmacies are due to come online as more vaccine supplies are available this month. Boots, Superdrug and several independent stores will be the first of hundreds of community pharmacies to offer vaccinations protecting against COVID-19.
Hand washing wherever it’s needed most
The Teal portable hand washing sinks, in use at the locations, are stand-alone and can be placed where needed, totally independent of any plumbing that exists in the building or room. They are supplied with their own water containers and separate waste containers that are housed inside the unit.
It means that the sinks are available to offer staff and members of the public direct access to regular, soap and water hand washing, the most effective method to ensure hand hygiene for all involved in the increasing number of vaccinations.
Teal has already delivered sinks to support the first phase that includes sites in Halifax, Macclesfield, Widnes, Guildford, Edgware and Telford.
