Good news as Teal buck the recession
With more bad news about the decline of small and medium businesses in the West Midlands, Chelmsley Wood-based
hot water hand wash unit manufacturer
TEAL Patents Ltd is pleased to report record trading in 2008 and a bulging order book at the start of this year.
As the recession starts to bite and more and more companies are laying off staff and introducing a three day week, workers at TEAL are pulling out all the stops to meet demand for their innovative range of portable hand wash units that require no fixed plumbing to operate.

As well as supplying the units to medical establishments and catering outlets in the UK, TEAL is exporting them to Australia after appointing the company’s first-ever foreign stockist for the inventive product range.
With health and safety legislation in the food industry becoming more stringent and the urgent need to promote hot water hand washing in hospitals and other medical establishments in the ongoing battle against superbugs, TEAL is experiencing an ever increasing demand for its hand wash units.
“We have the right products at the right time because we are continually developing our units to meet the specific demands of the future,” says Managing Director Mike Stanley.
A good example is the recently launched Hygienius Prowash
® - a purpose built unit which automatically delivers a hot water hand wash that exactly matches National Health Service requirements as described in the document Hand washing techniques with soap and water produced by the National Patient Safety Agency. This ensures that staff, patients and hospital visitors have a hand wash that meets the guidelines every time they use it.
This new addition to the TEAL range was quickly developed from the ground breaking Hygienius® unit which was named
“2008 Product of the Year” by the British Sandwich Association.
With further new products for catering companies and the food industry in the pipeline for 2009, TEAL is planning to buck the recession and build on last year’s trading success in the coming months.
“Our commitment is to continuously design and develop new and innovative products that combat the growing tide of serious cross infections by encouraging the provision of better and more effective hot water hand washing facilities exactly at the point of needs” says Mike Stanley.
