Hot water hand washing in Australia and New Zealand

Portable hot water hand wash units manufactured by Teal Patents Ltd are being used in temporary kitchens producing fine dining meals for corporate guests at prestigious events on the other side of the world.

Australian hire company Transplumb has supplied Teal units for events including the Formula One Grand Prix and Melbourne Cup horse racing.

Using the Teal units – which require no fixed plumbing or drainage, just a power supply, to operate – has reduced the cost of providing mandatory hot water hand wash facilities in temporary kitchens by 75 per cent, according to Transplumb MD Tim Hodges.

He is so impressed with the products - and has been asked so often to supply rather than just hire them -  that he has become Teal’s agent in Australia and New Zealand, the first the UK company has ever appointed.

“Teal products are the best suited units for the market here and as they have been tried and tested by our clients for many years we had trust in knowing that it is the right decision to import them into Australia and New Zealand,” he says.

The complete range of hand wash units manufactured by Teal – including wall/vehicle mounted and floor standing – has been approved by Health Inspectors at Melbourne City Council.

With all states in Australia now subject to a mandatory law that states all food handlers must have hot water hand wash facilities and the same regulations due to be enforced in New Zealand soon, a high demand is expected for the Teal products.

“2009 looks to be a great year to promote them throughout Australia and New Zealand with trade shows booked in many states to introduce the Teal range to the many industries for which the products are an ideal instant ablution solution,” says Tim Hodges.
