Unclean hands are still believed to be the major cause of Hospital Acquired Infections (HCAIs) like MRSA, Clostridium Difficile, Norrovirus, etc.
They have also been instrumental in the rapid progress of other serious infections such as E.coli.
The British public have been reassured that the measures already taken are reducing these infections but the undeniable fact is that many thousands of patients still die each year and many more suffer the nasty consequences of a hospital acquired infections.
TEAL are unique in developing the remarkable Hygienius® Prowash HGP230M hot water hand wash unit that is electronically programmed to deliver a wash that exactly matches the requirement as shown in definitive document produced by the National Patient Safety Agency for the NHS:-
The washing procedure with the Hygienius® Prowash is simple, quick and very effective.
* Placing the hands in the bowl triggers the Greensensor to begin the wash cycle.
* The Prowash will then deliver water for 2 to 3 seconds with which to wet the hands.
*The Greensensor will continue flashing for the 15 seconds 'SOAPING TIME'whilst you apply and rub in the liquid soap.
* After that the Greensensor will extinguish and the 10 seconds hot wash will begin to allow a thorough warm rinse.
* Removing the hands from the bowl allows the Prowash to reset and the Greensensor to relight.
Total time for a perfect wash - just 25 to 30 seconds - and hands cannot be cleaner!.
Prowash can provide its unique washing facility at any strategic locations being free from the requirement of fixed plumbing. Fully self contained it only requires a 13 amp power point for immediate and successful operation.
Hygienius® and Hygienius® Prowash are already proving their worth in many hospitals throughout the UK and are now the recognised requirement in the ‘Soft Walled’ medical facilities for the British Army in their various peace keeping roles around the World.

Product FAQs
Are there any taps to keep clean?
No - Hygienius® Prowash is completely automatic. Placing your hands in the bowl starts off the unique Prowash washing sequence culminating in the delightful 10 second hot rinse. The programme is fully automatic - there is nothing to adjust - just the same luxurious wash time after time.
How do I plumb it in?
Hygienius® Prowash needs NO plumbing! Every Hygienius® Prowash has a TEALtainer™ Twin Bag that separately contains the clean water and hygienically retains the waste water.
How many hand washes will the Hygienius® Prowash provide before refilling is necessary?
Each ten second wash uses approximately 220 ml of water so that the TEALtainer™ Twin Bag provides approximately 40/45 ten second hot washes.
How do I disinfect my Hygienius Prowash?
There is a simple routine developed with the help of the Hospital Infection Research Laboratory, City Hospital, Dudley Road, Birmingham B18 7QH.
It involves the emptying of the TEALtainer and refilling the fresh water bag with a 500ppm chlorine solution. By means of the purge button located on the under side of the power box behind the lift up display panel, the disinfectant solution can be run through the water system for a period of 5 minutes. The TEALtainer can then be emptied and fresh water used to flush out any remaining disinfectant.
It is suggested that if this proceedure is carried out every other day it "is sufficent to maintain a negligible level of contamination".
What About Legionella?
With the Disinfection routine outlined above, there is zero possiblity of any water born Micro-oganism build up. Using instantaneous heating, there is no retained warm water in which micro-organism might breed and with the low pressure water delivery, there is no possibility of breathing in any fine spray water droplets.
